World’s fastest man and the most successful athlete after World War II has put his all 9 Olympic gold medals including the 3 he won at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games up for auction to fund building of an ultra-modern sports stadium in Jamaica.

According to him, it has been his long term plan to contribute his quota to the development of sports in Jamaica and believes the time is now.

The proposed 50,000 seater capacity stadium at a cost of $36 million to be built in Kingston would be the largest sports stadium in Jamaica and it’s expected to be completed in March 2018.

The initial asking price for the coveted medals is $5 million each could raise in excess of over $45 million.
US Republican Presidential hopeful, Donald Trump has expressed interest to buy one of the medals to show his appreciation to what Usain Bolt has achieved in athletics and also dispel rumors that he is a racist.

The auction is scheduled to take place between the 8th-10th September at the Heritage Auctions in Long Beach, CA.
