South Africa’s Michelle Weber Wins Second Gold Medal at the Olympics

Michelle Weber in less than 24 hours after the world record win by Wayde van Niekerk in men’s 400m final won a second gold medal for South Africa in the women’s 10km marathon swimming at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Michelle Weber, who underwent surgery to correct a heart problem three years ago, has made South Africa proud and her heroics would never be forgotten.

The 19 year old swimmer won the competition with a personal best of 1:57:31.7 beating the likes of Éva Risztov of Hungary, Jumi Kida from Japan, Keri-Ann Payne of the Great Britain, Stephanie Horner and many others.
