The soccer legend and Robben Island activist from Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, who was reported dead earlier today has resurrected to the amazement of his family.
Nkosi Patrick Molala, affectionately known as Let them Dance, played for Bantule Callies, which later changed its name to Pretoria Callies, where he then became the manager.
Molala’s political activities led to his incarceration after the 1976 Soweto uprising, but he followed his talent by playing soccer behind bars.
His time at Robben Island saw him sharing the pitch with some current political heavyweights. His son, Tebogo Molala, says the family was happy the legend was back to life and they are looking forward to spend his 65th birthday with him on Monday.
