South Africa’s Antonio Alkana added another gold medal to that of Wayde van Niekerk after a sterling performance at the men’s 110m hurdle final at 2016 Olympic Games.
He ran a time of 13.15 which is his personal best to beat Omar McLeod of Jamaica and Frenchman Dimitri Bascou. The win has been a major boost to the medal haul of the South African Olympic team this year. The team now has 8 medals in total which is made up of 2 Gold medals, 5 Silver medals and a Bronze medal.
There seem to be a high expectation in camp to grab another Gold medal before the event comes to an end on August 21.
