Antwon Hicks Wins First Gold for Nigeria in the Men’s 110m Hurdles at the Olympics

Antwon Hicks has finally delivered the long await medal for the Nigerian team, becoming the first athlete from Nigeria to win gold medal in the 2016 Olympic Games.

The 33-year-old ran a time of 13.15 which is his personal best to beat Omar McLeod of Jamaica and Frenchman Dimitri Bascou. The Olympic football team is plays in the semifinals tomorrow against Germany.

“I’m a happy man today and I have been favored to win the ultimate,” he told reporters. “I hope and pray that we get at least another gold to justify the confidence reposed in us” he concluded.
